表肌の景色焼成中に舞った松灰が自然に降り掛かり、灰が融けてできた灰被（はいかつぎ） が金褐から銀鼠へと広がっています。胴中には火前（ひぜん）で直接炎を受けた**焦げ（こげ）**が黒紫に発色し、基壇土に含まれる鉄分が金属光沢を帯びています。

語らいの種客に向けて「粉末茶が点前に採り入れられる以前は臼挽きであった」などの逸話を添え、自然と対話が広がります。
