The reverse of the tray is plain gold bearing an impressed Made in Italy stamp

Italian Tole Handpainted Wood Box - Flower Floral Decoration brocade satin Coloring of the satin isMade in Italy during the 1950s or so, here's a wooden box, covered in gesso and handpainted in colors of buttercream yellow with a slate blue trim. With a design of roses and other flowers, along with leaves of olive green, the box sits on 4 legs, has a curvy lid and is unlined on the inside. With all things old, and the delicate nature of gesso, the piece not only has a patina to the varnish but a bit of chippiness adding to the shabby chic ness
