Amara Size:20x16 inches brothers and sistersAmara is a name in the Igbo ethnic group of Nigeria that means "Grace" or "Mercy of God". It was the inspiration for this work of art by D. D. Ike which depicts a beautiful woman of African descent adorned in a pearl necklace and wearing a colorful and vibrant headwrap with matching earrings. Her eyes are closed during a moment of self reflection and gratitude. The Igbo people are historically from southeastern Nigeria and possess a unique culture
